I do not understand why asking for mildly darker skin tones is such a terrible thing, but apparently it really pisses off a lot of people. The responses were so hostile that I simply decided to no longer respond to the topic in question with the community. The concern being that dark skin colors dont belong in anything "Traditional Chinese Fantasy" which I found to be absolutely ridiculous considering BnS is based on Wuxia, and it has plenty of dark skin tones, and many modern Chinese actors have noticeably darker skin tones than are available in SOLO. Over a skin color that is an option, not a mechanic. Including a response that equated adding darker or more tanned skin tones would make the game no longer unique and cause mass amounts of people to quit the game. This however wasn't the only issue in tow, in response I asked on the forums for the game if the NA/EU side of development would consider adding new skintones that would be darker than what we have, and the response was incredibly hostile.
